3 Herbs That Promote Hair Growth (and end your hair’s misery)

Have you ever seen English lavender blossom in summer?

It produces dazzling purple flowers that last for 1-2 months. After that, the bloom begins to fade and will bloom again next year.

Imagine if our hair followed a similar lavender pattern, one gorgeous display, and it was all gone. Thank God it didn’t happen that way.

Our hair follows a growth cycle in which the stages are pretty long.

Instead of a few months, the growth or growth phase can last from three to seven years. Fortunately, most hair is in its growth phase. Only 10% are in a resting period, ready to quit.

If that balance is upset—if more hair is lost and less hair grows back—then something is wrong.

Changes in our hair’s growth cycle can be influenced by a variety of external factors. Stress, illness, vitamin deficiencies, rapid weight loss, and even the use of unsuitable hair products can disrupt this cycle.

However, the good news is that by addressing these factors, maintaining a healthy diet, and managing stress, you can restore your hair’s normal growth pattern. Remember, a healthy lifestyle is key to healthy hair.

However, this process can take several months, and you may need the help of herbs and botanicals to promote hair growth and reduce shedding.

So, which herbs can promote growth? Here are 3 herbs you can use to treat your hair
1. Green Tea
2. Nim
3. Mint

1. Green tea promotes hair growth

Although I don’t like the taste of green tea, I want to wash my hair with it. I see less hair loss and thicker, firmer hair.

So why is green tea good for your hair?

Green tea contains two unique compounds: catechins and caffeine. These star-shaped compounds prolong growth (growth phase) and stimulate the growth of dermal papilla cells in the hair follicle.

This means that green tea can help reduce shedding and increase the length and strength of the hair shaft.

In addition, green tea has significant antioxidant power. It can help remove free radicals that damage hair follicles and affect the hair’s growth cycle.

So, how can green tea be used to promote hair growth?

What do you need?

Green tea :1: bag or (1 TSP loose tea)

Hot water:2 cups

method

Place the green tea in a pot or jug. Pour hot water over it, cover it, and let it soak until cool. Strain the tea leaves and use.

How to use

Rinse with green tea. First, shampoo your hair. Next, pour green tea water on your hair and let it sit for 3 to 5 minutes before rinsing.

2. Neem Leaves for Happy Scalp and Hair

The neem tree is an extraordinary healer. It has antifungal, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant properties.

Therefore, it is effective against various skin and scalp conditions, such as dandruff, eczema, and psoriasis. Skin conditions can worsen and plague your scalp and hair follicles, especially when you’re stressed or sick.

Neem offers a simple and natural solution for scalp treatment. As your scalp health improves, so does the health of your hair. It’s that straightforward.

So, how do you use neem for treatment?

What do you need?

Neem leaves:1/4 cup dried or fresh leaves.

Hot water:2 cups

method

Place the neem leaves in a pot or jug. Pour hot water over them, cover them, and let them soak until cool. Filter and use the neem water.

How to use

Finally, rinse with neem water. First, shampoo your hair. Next, pour neem water on your hair and let it sit for 3 to 5 minutes before rinsing.

Your hair will be shiny and soft, as neem water is also a great conditioner.

Finally, we have mint to boost the hair…

3. Mint on the thickness and density of hair

When you think of mint, you think of its smell and the tingling sensation on your skin.

But we’re after the hair growth potential of mint.

A study conducted in mice showed that peppermint oil can improve blood flow to hair follicles and help transfer follicles in the resting phase (ready to shed) to the growing phase. As a result, hair grows thick and long. In addition, the number of hair follicles in the peppermint oil-treated group also increased.

The downside, of course, is that the study was conducted in mice. However, among peppermint’s benefits, some anecdotal reports suggest that peppermint oil helps promote hair growth. In addition, it soothes and calms scalp irritation.

How do you use mint to improve hair density?

What do you need?

Peppermint essential oil:5 drops

Coconut oil:2 TBSP

How:

Combine the two and apply them.

How to use

Massage oil into your scalp to adjust the length of your hair. Let it sit for an hour (or overnight if you can). Wash as usual. Repeat once or twice a week.

Note: You can also rinse with peppermint tea. You’ll need a mint tea bag and two cups of hot water to make it. Then, follow the rest of the instructions given for green tea or neem leaves.

Mistakes to avoid

If you are not familiar with any of the herbs, do a patch test on your forearm to rule out any allergies before applying it to your scalp.
