Wash Your Hands Before You Go Naked

Suppose the pegboard is soaked in water for more than 60 seconds (such as damaged nails) in some cases. In that case, enough water will be absorbed into the pegboard to cause a significant change in the water content. Even so, regular hand washing is unlikely to increase moisture on the finger deck significantly. Studies show that many people only wash their hands for a maximum of 5-10 seconds. Still, health authorities recommend washing hands for 20 seconds. I suggest clients carefully and thoroughly clean their nails with a clean, sterilized nail brush before sitting at the manicure table.

The most important thing is to pay attention to how your nails feel and look after washing your hands.

Are they the same as they were before you washed them? Or do you feel like your C-curve is loosening up?

If your nails have relaxed, they have absorbed enough water, which may affect the polish’s adhesion.

Clean finger deck

Rubbing alcohol, pure acetone, or nail primer (dehydrating agent) is crucial to achieve good nail polish adhesion to the deck.

Ensure the cleanser contains no “moisturizing” ingredients, such as oil or glycerin.

These will form a film on the finger deck, which is unsuitable for nail polish. You will experience lifting and sharpening.

If these products contain a small amount of water, there is nothing to worry about.
